Villa Remeis

Built 1811 in neoclassical style. The owner Dr. Karl Remeis, a lawyer and hobby astronomer willed his entire wealth the city of Bamberg under the stipulation that the villa Remeis will be used as a café and shall be unreconstructed. By a violation of his will the entire inheritance would fall to the city of Würzburg. The café is run since 1997 from the women of the catholic social services.
